F22 tranny will fit H22 motors. F22 tranny has tall gears, H22 has short gears. Acceleration on H22 tranny is much greater, good gear ratios. F22 tranny is good for turbo since it has taller gears.

Yeah, your car will be a lot slower than comparable H22 swaps with the H22 tranny.

Get an H22 or H23a1 tranny. The first rule of swaps is to double the amount of $$ you think it is going to cost.

and how are taller gears good for turbos :-\ I always hear those huge 18 wheelers shift like 5 times in an intersection. almost makes you think they have really really short gears and turbos.

More time in the powerband. But I had an M2S4 H23A1 tranny with my F22B2 Turbo and it worked great.

I don't really think you can compare big rigs to turbo hondas. Those rigs don't rev past like 3000-3500. They're built for torque and accelerating with heavy *** loads, not for accelerating a feather-weight (in comparison) family car.

Even with that said, I personally believe the whole longer-gears-is-better-for-turbo thing is crap.

But back on topic... If you keep the f22 tranny, I think you're going to be dissappointed with the swap overall. I would save up until you have the money for the tranny as well, and like Accord94DX said, also have plenty of extra cash. Most people spend money then they plan.

I thought the gears were a little to short myself ;p

IMO you always want shorter gears and the whole longer gears for boost thing is a myth

Haha I don't think I ever took that car above 100, the only reason I ever took it that high even was because the horn didn't work and I needed to avoid collision on the on ramp! I fixed that by installing horns from a bronco. Sounded mean!

If the car has 700 more rpm 'till redline, h23 gears would have been great. Just seemed a bit too short for me, shifting all the time

so you're telling me if the same car with an h22 tranny ran a 15 seconds 1/4 at the track it would be faster with an f22 tranny. assuming its boosted of course. I think thats a lie :-p

well I'm just trying to get the point across that shorter gears are better for turbos just like NA cars.

Yes, drag racing is gay.
