header install now theres a rattle
i just installed a set of Dc 4-2-1 headers in my 96 GSR and now i have a rattling noise that seems to be coming from around the catalytic converter. i checked everything, nothing is loose and the header is not vibrating on the engine block. anyone have a solution or have had this problem? it sometimes has a rattling noise when im driving and when my car is idling around 500rpms

yeah its definately the heat shield after the cat because i noticed some scratches from it on the exhaust piping. would there be any problems if i just took the heat shield off and didnt fab a new one?

No, your cabin might heat up a bit more but it'll be fine.
BTW, it's header not headers

No, no problems without a heatshield I don't think, but thats probably not what it is. Unless its just a coincidence that it happened when you installed the header, I would say that the mounting bracket is loose. When I put a header on my friend's LS, the 2 bolts on the bracket didn't line up right and it rattled.

yeah thats whats the problem with my header. the two screws that connect the cat to the header dont line up too well and the cat is at a bit of an upward angle. im guessing now that the header i bought got bent when it was scraped. when i got the header, the previous owner had dented them.
