93 Hb Drag Car...need advise
Im Building a drag car out of a 93 Civic Hb ShELL and it needs alot of stuff... so i will most likely be on here tring to buy stuff...parts, i just bought a GSR head, so for the time being im most likley doin a LsVtech-T motor setup.i will be swapping in a B18A Ls with Vtech gsr head Ls Cable tranny, hydro to cable swap due to im missing the whole cable setup... beacuse its just a shell, and turbo. fiberglass paneling/ full out drag, maybe just mayyybe streetable i dunno.alright, well for starters, im not planing on leaving the head stock, or un PNP'd. ...but for the most part the cable tranny for me serves multiple purposes, not only is the clutch an brake ***. missing but most of the lines are aswell, "thus" im going to make it simpler by getting the whole ***. out of a CRx/hatchy run a cable make it short and sweet. plus i have had better luck with my cable tranny's than hydro's.
i realize that the fiberglass costs a pretty penny and that it is a little harder than i thought it was to make something like that, especailly when were talking a bout weight and time as well. as for right now with the financail point of view im probably not going to worry about it and just use the stock parts that i have, i got almost an extra dam car lying around here.
as far as Engine managment goes...ahh i still got to wire up and figure out exactly what im going to be using and what not, i CERTAINLY appriceate all the help that most of you have giving me. unlike some smartasses feel like this is there critisisum corner or some ****. if youre going to say some stuff like that pm me and say it, this isnt just some thread that i made up for fun...
Brakes~first things first, i will be upgrading them, right now i accually have a pair of Brembo's drilled rotors that i will be putting on the front. however the back im going to check out and see what kind of condition they are in to see if there worth replacing with Integ disc conversion and ect.
as of right now the only thing ive dont is towed it to the house and put a stock hood and front bumper that i had extra lying around anyways, worked on steering wheels a little bit and cleaning it out, ive been a little busy with surronding things but im sure "ya'll" know how all that is.

im sorry but... i have to say this.....
if you are going to build a race car save up some money, buy someone else's on-going-project/ or race car.
in the end, you will save yourself some money, it might not be that easy to get all the money upfront, but in the end, i garuntee you will end up spending more on "doin it yourself" than if you had bought someone else's car.
check in the classifieds right now, there are a few racecars that i know of that are forsale, and are very reasonably priced.
think about this
cage ~1500 ++ (10 point chrom-oly)
fiberglass front end &doors ~ 1000 + depending on what front end
lexan ~ 750 + depending if you get pre cut stuff or, cut it out yourself.
a paintjob 3000++ depending on how many colors, prepwork etc
so right there, just that litttle bit adds up to 6250.00
there are cars with decent paintjobs, full cages, a seat, a dash, lexan, a staging brake, fiberglass front end& doors, for around 4000.
right there off the top, you saved yourself 2250, which could be put toward a decent set of axles, maybe a stand alone engine management, or something else... LIKE A TRAILOR, for when you get the car completed.
i dont know you and you dont know me, but please take my advise, i tried to build a race car... and i thought i could do it, but its been 4 years now, and i have over 35,000 invested in the car+parts, but i still dont have a running race car.
save your self the time and headache of building your own, and take a look in the classified section. help out the community.
also, if you need to know where to get something, or have any questions about anything feel free to send me a pm, i have alot of resources, and references. that would be of good use to you.

My advice is to learn a whole lot more about what you're doing before you get started because it's quite obvious that you know less than you need to about most of what you're dealing with. Learn first, build second. Doing both at the same time will only lose you money in the long run.
And it's Uberdata and VTEC, not Unverdata and Vtech. Spelling such things correctly will greatly increase your standing in this particular online community.
