Yet another what is my car worth thread
The time has come to guage the value of my ITR. 2001 Black, clean title, 80k miles, burns some oil like the rest of them. Lowered on H&R Sports and Bilsteins, cold air intake and some tunes, that's it.
What's reasonable to get from a dealership? Private sale? Let me know people!
Thanks.

Good luck with everything Chris.
Even though a dealer might not give you as much as you'd like, like Ken mentioned a while back you would have less tax to pay on the difference (I'm assuming you're planning on trading it in on a new car).

Yea, that's true back in a lot of states, but not out here in California, unfortunately. It's my understanding that I have to pay tax on the whole car regardless, even if I buy it in another state.
Any guesses on what a dealership should offer on trade?

When i was selling my car. I was at a dealer and they offered to buy the car from me. The said they would give me 13900 for it. This was a 2001 with about 23k miles on it. They said the car needed new tires. I just got in the car and drove away.

12-13k. They will lowball the crap out of you. Private party is your best bet, just more time and hassle.

Try to get 16k for it. But you might have to settle for 15K. Its newer but has higher mileage than many of the R's out there still.

I agree, trust me you would want some lube after they tell you the amount
Private Seller is much better
... although you have to go through some/more hassle

How about mine? Same car, just a header/exhaust as mods, but only 23K miles (probably around 27K after the Expo).
You think $19-20K for mine?

Yeah, you could get $19-20k... but, not from anyone on this site. We all know you're a track *****.

Yes, however, I assure you, us track guys maintain our cars as good as anyone.
You really to have to see the car in person to see the condition it's in. Interior/Exterior in near new condition, and mechanically, in super shape. Last year I only did like 8 track days, and so far this year, not a thing.
Car is garaged and just waiting for the Expo.
