Smokin coming out the exhuast after head gasket install, runs sounds good though
Ok, I just got done doing my first head gasket repair. I went through all the steps I could think of from honda tech buddys and from anyone else who knows about cars. So I start it up, It sounds great. Purr, I let it idle. I put coolant and let it breathe. everything seems to work great. the car doesnt over heat, oil pressure is normal. the only thing is the idle is off. It starts to climb a little on its on when I took it for a test drive. so I can adjust that and play with that. The car has all the power it had before I blew my head gasket maybe even a lil better with the new spark plugs in it. The only thing is smoke is pouring out the back. Its a white greyish smoke. I check my radiator and no sign of oil mixing? resevoir is not going crazy. What could be the problem?
I would say it is running rich...but if you checked it out I dont know...I am having the same sort of problem right now...running too rich...and it is the same thing that you described...
Maybe, I havent got the chance to get it properly tuned since I bought it and fixed it. Thanks for the idea, so you have alot of white grey smoke pouring out constantly?
check your timing belt, cam gear alignment and crank pulley maybe? I know when I rushed my cam install it started smoking cause I didn't do a good job setting my cam gears and crank to TDC. My car smoked a lot, but I redid my timing belt and aligned the crank and cam gears and took my time and I even checked my valve lash.

white = coolent burning
black = too rich
blue = oil burning
sounds to me like ur sucking coolent in the combustion cahmber and runing to rich. that would cause the gray smoke.
btw does it do this all the time or when ufirst start it? a bit of white smoke when cold is normal.

when I first start its not so much . but I drove around the blocks a few times and it started to smoke heavily, it was just a short test run. It is a high compression b16 im dealinf with I dont want to fak **** up with minimal cost..I have a clost budget for now.
