There aren't really good "kits" out there. You can make sure you have reliable ballasts like Hella or Phillips, but the bulbs in these kits are usually cheap asian quality. Furthermore, the higher you go into Kelvin temperature scale, the less light there is. If you were to go with a kit, then i would say 6000k to 8000k max.

But if you have the time you should invest in doing a HID retrofit, meaning swapping out your stock halogen projectors to OEM HID projects (s2k, BMW, Benz, Lexus, etc.) and use OEM ballasts. It comes out to be about the same price as a kit, but involves a lot of customization. Check out HIDPLANET.com before buying anything.

Audi A6 retrofitt is one that I have done on a friend's car. Retrofitting is nice but afetr doing it twice (onces on stock ehadlights, once on black housings) I got sick of it and went for a Visions X kit that was sold at Car Toys...saves myself the trouble and I am still without much glare. I am getting tons of compliment for it as well and I'm loving the HIDs....

After 3 sets...I'm never going back!

get McCulloch 6000K.. thats what I had on my 99 GSR. SUPER easy to install. it will not take longer then 10 mins. piece of cake.

P.S Highly recommend the 6000K.

Go with the E55 HID projectors when doing an HID retro. With the A6 retro, you will need to use set screws in order to level the projector. With the E55, all you need to do is open the lights up, take out the light braket inside, cut the existing projector housing off, smooth that area flat, mount the E55 projectors, align, then put the light housings back together, and Wa La! Oh yeah, Great advise, http://www.hidplanet.com for all of your HID questions!
