Recently ive been checking them out lately and im wondering how they are performance wise. I consider myself a honda n00b because i just starting checking out honda's cars. I've always been a Nissan person and my last car was an S13 240sx. The reason im checking out Honda is because for gas mileage, Honda > Nissan and for the snow (most of the time) fwd > rwd. Thanks in advance for anyones help.

 

As a bias 1992 si owner i have the say the performance is awesome. You get the best single cam motor but yet the swaps are endless. You get the sunroof and so on. Yet the down fall is its the heaviest of the hatches. Good luck

 

The si is the best you can get for the 92-95, especially if your looking for a daily driver. Power steering, AC, sunroof, and of course those kick *** stylish hub caps haha

 

I have a 94 Si, good car, power behind the single over head. It's heavy but you can make up for it in other places . Plus, it's already wired for VTEC. It's a good car. I'd get one over a Nissan any day. Learn from my mistake, if you run 15's the tire size should be 195/50/15

Oh yeah, there are a lot of swaps, the ones that can haul the most are the B18C-R. Regardless of what you hear, it's worth it.

 

how much trouble do you think a b16 swap would be? I mean, i have very little experience with swaps so i dont think i could do it myself. My friend has a crx with a built b16 and its incredible car, i thought about doing one myself

and off topic but: how are the b16 del sol's anyways? I know they are somewhat heavy but with basic mods how do they run in the 1/4? Also, how do they handle

b16's would drop in fairly easy...basically any B or D series with minor details to address...a B18b would do some justice too!

Man i miss my 93 Si...sighs

How does the si compare to the ex performance-wise?

 

Depends on what you do to em. An Si will be a little faster stock. But drop a LS-VTEC with a phatty turbo in a coupe and watchout. Go B-series all the way. Or spend the big money and do K-Series. My EG is going to have a JDM K24A (Accored Euro-R 6Spd) Bored and stroked to 3.1l-3.2l. Desiree will stomp again. Only after I invest some $20K+ I'm driving this new teg, Lyndsey, now.

 

sweet deal, all good info. Last question of the night (5th post): How many days/hours do you think it would take for me and one other person (who has knowledge with B-series swaps) to complete based on how long it took for anyone on HT to do.

 

If your B series is JDM a little longer due to the wiring mods required to the engine harness. I would say give yourself 3 solid days to take your time and do a good job. If you are going for some speed record, you could bust it in a day.
