1gen rex clutch/tranny probs.. goin nuts help........
87 crx Si.
ok clutch died due to oil fouling from tranny.. heck tranny side of clutch disk was GONE!!! input shaft seal and bearing in manual tranny went <U> south literally</U> oil then killed clutch... heck i dealt wit all that and was bout to bolt up a new ceterforce clutch when i reaized there was no pilot bearing in flywheel now i said ok this cud esplain y **** went bad till i got the pilot bearing from napa and the damn thing is waaay toooo big to the friggin flywheel heck there aint much room for a bearing in there vs the tranny shaft O.D... Arrgh cross refd. part form different part store checked out as right part...
AM i NUTS?? Do piolt bearings both do and don't exist on my car or wha? <U>WTF???</U>
Anyone please shed light on this before i go apeshit on the thing with a very BFH.

Not sure what language your posting in.... but here goes.
The pilot bearing has to be pressed into the flywheel, try freezing the bearing over night, it should slip right into the flywheel. when it warms up it will fit like a glove. That is if you have the right bearing.

Excess play in the transmission input shaft caused that problem for me in my 87 before.....the transmission bearings go bad. You may need a rebuild.
And some cars don't need a pilot bearing. I think you may not need one for that car.

just rebuilt the tranny with new input shaft bearing and seal, all else seemed fine, upgd. to a LSD while i had it open... but maybe you are right and i don't need pilot bearing though why would they list one for my car... have to call honda in the morning to know for sure.

Actually, the input shaft fits inside the flywheel..that is the support.
Your play came from somewhere. Are you using the correct flywheel? Is the stranny making any funny noises?
