How to hook up a subwoofer from a Sony CD Head Unit?
I just got a good deal of a Sony Head Unit so I decided to get a subwoofer too, Which line should I connect it to? My headunit doesn't have a socket for sub woofer? Sorry, I am new to this so please bear with me
You need an amp. The amp will plug into the RCA jacks on the back of the deck. If your deck doesn't have RCA's, a line out converter is needed.
Your deck will have rca's see if there are sperate ones for the sub, if not, connect the rca's to a non fading output (if possible) or the rear output. Make sure if your not using an equalizer with a subwoofer crossover, that your new amp has a crossover made for subs (low pass).
Make sure to get a quality amp, and look at ALL figures in RMS....for example, the sony explod amp says 1500 watt on it in huge letters when it's actually more like 300watt RMS (means continuous...regular listening).
