Compressor clutch is locking up with a/c on. Can it be fixed?

Compressor clutch is locking up with a/c on. Can it be fixed?
So when i run my a/c , the compressor clutch will lock up about every 5 minutes. And its makes the nails on a chalkboard screetching sound.
Just wanna know if theres is an easy fix for this, or do i have to change it
And if it stays like that, will it last me through the summer?
