Default Need hep IDing my turbo is it an E or B?

Hi guys,

I was just reading over another members thread on whether he had an E or B trim turbo. I did some searching around cause I couldn't remember which one had 6 and which had the 7 blade compressor. After the search I found out that the E trim turbos have 6 blades and the B trims have 7 blades.

Just for the hell of it I checked my turbo too and it had 7 blades. This came as a surprise because the Revhard 2C kits come with T04E turbos if you dont specify a trim. I specifically asked for a T04E 60 trim turbo. But I just found out today that mine has a 7 blade compressor wheel.

Can anyone comfirm what trim this turbo is? Do all the other B trim turbos have 7 blades? like the 60-1 or 62-1. What else can I look at to narrow down the trim type of my turbo? On the oompressor it says .60 a/r and on the turbine side it says Precision turbo and it has 11 blades.

Thanks

Also forgot to mention that the compressor inlet is 3" and the outlet is 2".

I think you have your nomenclature a little incorrect. The housing is an E housing. The Trim is the actual measurement of the exducer of the compressor blade. Simply going by number of blades is not the best way to determine what trim the actual compressor is.

What you have there is a Precision T3/T04E 60 Trim turbo that comes standard with the 2C kit.

Yah I was hoping I was reading it wrong too. I usually read about a/r and trims when referring to compressor sizes. The a/r stamp tells us the size of the housing right? and of course the trim would be the size of the exducer on the fan blades. I just knew that the trim had something to do with the fans, but I didn't know exactly what it was.

The thing that caught my attention was when I counted my blades. I just wanted to make sure that there are E turbos out there with 7 blades.

Thanks

hehehe, it's actually good that I asked this question. I thought that all T04E's had 6 blades, but I guess there are some exceptions. So at least I learned something today.
