Turbo says T-80 on the compressor housing....????
I just compared my turbo to my friends turbo from his drag kit. His is a T3/T4 .46 or .50 trim .48 A/R. My turbo is supposed to be a T3/T4 .57 trim .60 A/R. My turbo looks much bigger than his and it also has T-80 stamped on the compressor housing. Is this right, wrong, or normal???? I don't have a digital camera to take a picture. The turbo is from Pauls group buy.

it looks like he packed up and sent you the wrong turbo. a more expensive bigger monster turbo.

what does the part number say on the little plate on the turbo? it should end with something like 5003...if not, I can fix that for you, unless you want that thing...
what size are the compressor housing inlets and outlet?

So is the T-80 just a mistake? I think my friend should check his turbo he might have a straight T3. Is there anyway i could check to see what turbo he has? Could measuring the inlet and outlet on the compressor housing tell me what it is, or do you have to take it apart?

he has a .48a/r compressor housing? sounds kinda small to be in the t4 family don't it? what did it come off of? if the compressor housing is similar in size to the turbine housing, then that's just a t3

The turbo came in his Drag kit. We spent all weekend putting in his clutch, cam gears, timing belt ,waterpump, turbo kit ect.... We should finish it tomarrow. All we have to do is put the fitting into the oil pan. I guess we will find out if it's the right turbo very soon.

Heh if it really was a t-80 you could sell that shiznit and buy a t3/t4 and have plenty of change
