They are the same except for a minor variation on the exhaust lobe of the cam.

if you get the ZC, you're most likely going to have fewer miles on it than the a6. plus a better cam, the choice is obvious. i know im happy with my sohc zc

people fall into the fallacy of "jdm is better" and ****. they're the same f'in motor, one with a couple more horses that won't be as big as the advertised amount unless you get the ecu too or get one chipped. basically, get whatever one's cheaper with low miles. d16a6's can be had for like 100 bucks sometimes. plus, i know tennesee is one thing, but if they ever make visual checking a law, zc's are a little harder to pass.

Finding a d16a6 with less then 120k is like finding a virgin at the Playboy mansion....within the realm of possibility, but not likely.

Most sohc zc engines will be between 40-80k.

A sohc zc will pass a visual...it looks identical to an A6. I understand its an accepted replacement engine in California.

Low mileage plus a few more horsepower...its a no brainer:

...sohc zc
