Default Buying A Hatch 92-95. What model is best!!?? CX, DX, VX, SI ??

Hi,

I'm getting ready to buy a 92-95 Hatchback, but i need some input.

What is different from the CX to the DX? the DX to the VX? and so forth. Is it worth buying the low end CX if i'm willing to dump some money. Or would I be better off in the long run getting a DX, VX, or SI???? Thank you.

search son....

the vx is the lightest, cx is next to lightest with the shittiest motor ever made, then the dx which has a few more creature comforts, then the si which i think is the best cuz it has a Z6 in it, rear disc brakes, and it just drives better.

I know all of that stuff. Someone told me the CX is lighter than the VX, but I'm going to tear the engine completely out anyways i don't care about engine i'm talking about extra features are they worth the hype or would i wind up replacing those "extra perks" in the SI anyways.

I want power windows, but i don't need it. how much weight does that really add? Also Can't i convert the dx to power with the new door panels or is that just a waste of too much money?

I just got hit by a semi in my 92 4 door lol. I got 2500 from insurance and they let me keep the car. So i'll probably get another 500 outta the car. Plus i have money saved up so i got some money to drop. Is it worth buying and finding an SI for 3,500-4,000? or should I buy a cheap DX for around 1,500 and just drop the rest of the money into it?

Get an si, put internals in it and get a turbo. You won't have to worry about all the problems of doing a swap and wiring everything up to get some horses, although you will have to worry about tuning......

The si also starts with all the better stuff, unless you're gonna strip it and drag race......... after all it depends on what you plan to do with the car.

SOHC turbos rock!

Well it'll be too expensive to find a SI with low enough miles to do the internals of the engine. I would rather get a B18 and build those internals. SI's are so hard to find and when you do they want 4,000-6,000 for them. Hell save up 2 grand more and i can just go get myself a Impreza RS for that.

another vote for the Si!

It's a fun car to drive until you save enough $ for either a swap or a turbo kit. You also get the tach which I feel is absolutely essential.

Just be diligent in your search. I got my '93 Si for $2900 -- stock everything and it has a sunroof, which I personally like. Some of the purists will say that it just adds weight. To that, I say BAH!

Good choice on the si. U can get a shell without the engine for like 1500, then drop a b16/b18 in it... power n sunroof are the ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah... what the **** those it matter. I'm sure some of you guys plan is to make it into a drag car. So i would say CX, DX, or the vx. It's not gonna matter that much. You guys gonna strip it to as much as possible swap motor maybe some of you are even hard core to fuel cell.

Hah... anyways i like it when people said what the **** is a VX?

your basically buying the si for the sunroof. i really dont think the difference in weight matters between dx cx and vx. if you swap i dont think it will matter what you get because i think the difference in weight between the cx and vx is in the motor.
