The Classifieds Forums Are Just Freakin' Useless
I put a WTB post in there for a CRX and in 4 hours it had gone to page 7.
Not because there are alot of replies and activity, but because everyone "bumps" their posts 10 to 15 times a day. Thats just useless bullshit.
We need to make sure we keep it OK to post *applicable* sale and WTB posts in this forum. Let the other forums do their silly **** however they want.
Scott, who says "Thats just damned stupid."

They should do what FreshAlloy does and prohibit bumping and encourage searching. Then, the item reaches its target buyers/sellers much more easily than having to browse through zillions of irrelevant items.

I think I counted 70 bumps in that thread.

It's not just the bumps. It's the sheer number topics that appear every day. I really wish they would try to separate the FS: forum a bit.
Even a WTB forum would help!
If they separated some of the topics, it would make searching for things much easier!
BTW, good luck with your search!
It's getting really damn hard to find a decent CRX anymore that does not carry a crazy price tag!

The For Sale ad I posted for the ITS Prelude disappeared from this forum pretty quickly as well. Was going to give it a "bump" today as one last reminder, but guess the car is just going to Robinson Racing. A Classifieds section like improvedtouring.com seems to work pretty well except for the cars & trucks that are up there for months at a time.
I agree with you Bob, especially the guy who keeps recycling Peter Farrell's car ad. Every week or so he does the copy paste routine on the 3000 word description.

I'll stick my 2 cents on this one-we do need a better way to both sell and buy here. I had a car for sale for a very long time. SOLD finally on another more specific board-which may also be a solution. Why-because there was so much traffic that it got buried. Yes I bumped it several times (4months and 4 bumps) which under the circumstances made a lot of sense to me. We should limit the number of bumps on an ad or the number of times the item can be reposted during a given amount of time. I currently have an item for sale that has been on for some time as well. I am not worried as much, but see that it too got buried as others have described. It moved down 3 pages in 3 hours at first.
The search function can be hard to use at times-at least for me. If this is fixed then there is no need to bump your ad except after a lengthy period of time. Just my experience.

ImprovedTouring.com is the single fastest way to put yourself on every last Nigerian 319 (or whatever number it is) scam. Word of warning. Make an email address for that purpose only.
now, off to go get my 60 million dollar commision on...oh crap.

no kidding! For about 3 weeks after I posted on there, I kept getting those scams in my inbox. It started about 3 hours after I posted, and tapered off after 3 weeks. Grrr.

totally agree...especially the separating topics...
even if you search its still hard as crap to find what you want (even if a bunch of what you want is there fs)
& the bumps aren't bad for situations (as posted above) where ok its been a week or month & your stuff hasn't been seen...but the "bump for afternoon crowd"..."bump for pimpy stuff"..."bump 'cause thats all I do on H-T to increase my # of posts"...etc just have to be stopped.

in a perfect world .....
They should just lock each thread after you post = no more bumping
if you want to contact the seller --> use IM

they should ban "bumping" for sure. Also, it is stupid to have a forced induction specific forum when I'm sure less than half of this website has an FI car.
Also, it sucks that there is no more vouch threads. They did take up ALOT of space in that forum, but people get scammed left and right on this site, it helped being able to verify their trustworthiness.
With that said, I havent bought or sold something from somebody on this site through the classifieds in a few years. Only time I post anything is in the NJ for sale thread.

also just another comment, IMO nothing is going to get done about this. The powers that be make there money from the sponsors the more confusing the classifieds are the more likely some one is to go and buy from a sponsor.
This site has now come to suite the needs of sponsors.
