I have just baught a 1992 honda civic cx and i just seen my lil coolant thingy empty so i filled it up and that **** went down........i dont really drive it alot ive only moved it around to either wash my car or im in the way of my moms parking....and in my exhaust ives seen little steam come out and my pipe is a lil rusted on the inside...........any more details just ask.......
the steam and rust in the exhaust is probably normal as ive seen it many times. i would fill up the rad and over flow tank and run for a bit cause you rad could be low or have an air bubble

wow, dont u realize the level of coolant in your overflow tank changes b/ there is some in your radiator, depending on how hot the engine is. The level fluctuates also if you are driving and there is cool air hitting the rad

Air bubbles get into the cooling system and would prevent the engine block and radiator from being entirely filled, allowing the radiator to seem full then empty once the water pump runs and the car reaches temperature. Let the car come up to temperature and "burp" the system by removing the radiator cap and adding more antifreeze.
If your headgasket goes you will likely see antifreeze in the oil and or lots of steam out the back.

yea have seen antifreeze in my oil not alot but a little bit and i mean a size of a 25 cents so i should change my head gasket?
yeah man if u are gettin coolant into your oil, thats not good, it will get worse if u let it go... also when u take that head of if u want a little more power swap on a SOHC vtec head. u allready have the head off just buy a new head for 150 and a new ecu for 100 and u got some power and no coolant leak.

I'm gonna agree with him.
I'm waiting for my gasket to go so I can do this.

If you live in California, make sure the HEAD you put on is legal, or you can lose you car if pulled over. Normally, HEAD swaps, are a referee violation, that can get your car the inoperable status.
You can also fail at the smog check, if the smog guy has any brains.
If you live in California, and have a choice between a head swap or an engine swap, the safer route might be an engine swap. Too bad it is not a cheaper.
I have heard about people shaving the head a little and putting a thinner head gasket to increase the compression.
Anybody here do that? How did that work out?

Huh?
Research mini-me swaps....... they are just straight bolt on other than a little wiring.
And it's not a "chip," you need an entirely new ecu from the same year car that you get the vtec head from........
