Default notchy shifts **searched need more input**

Ill detail this completly. Have 25000km on the motor and trans. About 12k ago, a new exedy stage 1 clutch was put in. The shifter feels a bit notchy sometimes and sometimes not. It goes into gear very nicley and smoothly at times but for some reason, can get notchy. Last night, just crusising after some hard tunrs, put the clutch all the way in and put in 4th and it did a little skimmish grind. The MC is always full. Now iver read it could be a bad plate but i doubt on a clutch with 12k on it. thats when the MTF was changed as well. The only thing I can think of is to bleed the lines of air and see what happens bc it seems to be an inconsistany. I can shift at high rpms perfectly and it goes into 3rd without a problem so its not the synchros I believe. What do you all think?

It's the best in terms of ratios and differential. Everything else is the same so it's no better or worse than the other B series gearboxes.

thats why and it basically has 17k miles on it (25k kilometers). In any case, its mostly into 3rd.

-Drain Tranny Fluid
-Add fresh Honda MTF
-Drain clutch fluid
-Add fresh clutch fluid
-If problem persists then blame the trans

It really does sound like the synchros.

i can shift at 8.5k into 3rd like a baby. I suspect its the clutch fluid bc its black and probably has lots of air in the lines. Some motul600 dot4 brake fluids coming in that baitch

changed fluids all of them. Used 2/3 honda MTF and 1/3 synchromesh GM for the extra lube on the LSD. Feels great!

mine does the same type of thing, its really hard to get into gear sometimes, I kinda have to force it in and out. Changed tranny fluid about 3000 miles ago, I only have 18k....

ive beaten on my tranny to 36000 miles, i got it with 13900. no problems whatsoever, once the car is warm, its like butter.

if you barely ever drive your R, then you might want to change the fluids after long periods of time rather than miles??

But what do I know anyways..

With almost 75k on the clock I can feel my trans. getting more and more notchy. Sometimes when driving the car will refuse to let me change gears, and then some days the gearbox is smooth as butter. Guess it's time to change the fluid again...

Fluid is the key. Change it every 2-3 oil changes, its so damn easy. Its 4.50 for a bottle of MTF. You need 3, so thats 15 tops! If you want, mix a bit of synchromesh modified to keep the LSD longer. Other than that, its perfect.

Mine felt like *** before - seriously. Fluid makes a hell of a difference. Found this out with my old B18c1 when i left for 2 months and then drove the **** out of the car and the 3rd gear synchro started to grind. Never again!
