1993 acura integra front suspension question
i've got a slight problem with a 93 2dr. integra that i just purchased. the sound is coming from the front driver's side. It's a small "pop" sound that occurs only when i take off from a stop, and as soon as i come to a complete stop. It's not a continuous clicking sound like you would hear from a bad axle, it's just one small "pop". And it does it while keeping my wheels straight forward, so i know its not a bad axle. Anyone ever had this problem? If so, what have you done to fix it? thanks.
My CRX had a similar problem (same suspension type as yours). It would pop under med-heavy braking. Sometimes I could hear it pop back when I would start moving again. Here is what I did & it went away. I know it's a lot of things, but you at least know what to get in there & check out...
Rebuild front crossmember/radius rods including lightly sanding chassis mating surfaces & replacing washers & bushings.
Replace front transmission mount on crossmember.
Replace all LCA bushings.
Replace all swaybar & endlink bushings.
When my 92 civic was poping during Accel/Decel, it turned out to be damaged lowerballjoints. I knew that was the problem though since I had messed up the balljoint studs. The castle nuts wouldn't bottom out all the way on the LCA because the threads were messed up. I had them replaced & that solved that one...

so i guess it isnt just a common problem in DA integras. I was hoping someone had experienced this problem in the same style car as i have, But i guess their all about the same.
Generally, you just jack the car up & put it on jack stands. Next you grab the front wheel & wiggle it left/right, then up/down. If there are any noises, you will have to have a friend wiggle the wheel while you hunt down the problem.
Also check to make sure that there is no space between the balljoint boot & the LCA or knuckle...
