Default Weighed the various interior components from our GRM Project EP3

The car is currently getting its cage installed, so I took the time to weigh the various things that were removed; a table with component weights can be cound at the Project car's page, 2002 Civic Si Project

Nice!

What are your plans to patch the hole once filled by the sunroof?

Very Cool.

I like this quote:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
It amassed a variety of nicknames: The Bread Wagon, Shuttle Pod, and even Penalty Box on long trips where the exhaust would tend to boom. Regardless of the look or sound, anyone who drove the Si hard down the off-ramp or around a tight corner usually got out of it saying, "you know, this thing is a heck of a lot of fun."

</TD></TR></TABLE>

Awesome info! Weight reduction is key. I think the biggest difference in how my car felt in the corners was after I removed the back seat/spare tire and all that junk which ended up being almost 100lbs as youve shown. Looking forward to seeing how the car turns out.

Yeah, the primary plan is for it to run in Honda Challenge, although in order to do that I'll need my license, so it's going to be the mule for that duty as well. I'll have comprehensive weights on the car plus cage and versus what it was before the change when we get back from the Mitty....

That is the tire and the jack and tools, but yeah, certainly can't hurt to remove those for autocross runs etc.

Default 2002 Civic Si weights

The GRM website was rennovated, I've updated this thread's link to reflect the new location of the project car page. Weights are up with the cage installed, the car still has the stock driver's seat and a few other things to loose.

Great info.

I am going to be gutting/prepping my car for club racing this year as well, i hope to have it ready next season, but it may take two.

Actually, going to rivet a sheetmetal panel over the roof hole, cut the metal this afternoon, will prep and paint tonight and hopefully pick up some white seam sealer tomorrow so I can do it over the weekend.

Hey Scott think you'll keep your current suspension setup? The custom GC with the shortened and revalved Koni yellows, or do you think you will change it and go with like a moton, or some monotube koni? Also any better pics of the dash area with the ne cage? I just wanna see how kirk routed the bars, can can't really see with all the platstic

Yeah, I think we're going to start off with the current setup and see how it behaves, and we'll make adjustments as necessary. I'll try to remember to get some more photos of the cage up there as well. The roof panel is on the car, check out the site for photos.
