Default What can I expect going from GSR head to ITR head ?

Bah... I haven't even dyno'd the bish and I wanna swap heads...lol

I currently run a GSR head/cams with some valve seat work and it works well. But I am considering upgrading the cams and have the option to switch to a full ITR head.

I know swapping on this head would drop me approx 0.2 in compression... but should I expect decent performance gains from the whole head + I/M, or should I just swap the cams, springs into my GSR to keep the 0.2 and do other things w/ the ITR head ?

i think you should use the GSR head. I remember reading in a car magazine about a B-series all-motor build off kind of article. It was a challenge to see who could make the most allmotor b-series power. I clearly remember reading that most everyone was using a GSR head on their set-up.

port and polish the head and get a skunk2 intake manifold.

The PnP of the GSR head will be out of the question... no good places to do it here and it's too expensive to send it back to the US.

If they all used the GSR head, it may be because the combustion chamber is smaller and I think the bowl is a lil better for non turbo apps.

I understand use the type R head it will save you alot. The springs and retainers for the gsr head so you can rev it past 8500 will cost you 3-500 and the p-n-p will cost about 600 so if you can get the ITR head do it but while you have it apart why don't you put some ITR pistons in they will only cost about 300 and will net you 10 hp through out your rev range.

I won't be pulling the block here... the engine is currently running in the car...but...

ITR pistons ? To do what ? Downgrade ?

I'm done working on the block... it's head game time if you get me.
