help b16a hatch help!!!
alright heres what I got going on..I think it might be the timing i guess...well heres what happens...I start up my car right.. when I start it..it will idle really low like 400-500 rpm.. then will slowly pick up to 1500 or so...then back down to like 1000-750... I start driving it drives fine runs good..then when I stop... sometimes the engine rpm will die sometimes it will bounce up and down between 200 to 1400 rpm... I don't know if it s the alternator belt or the timing someone help me out!! when the car idles you can here the altnernator belt kinda a hair..does really seem bad tho

had a few idle problems cant remember how i fixed them. I do remember when i lowered the idle it fixed my last one.... never thought a high idle could make the idle bounce. move your TPS around see if it fixes it, if its riveted it should be fine and doesn't need to be tampered with

Funny, I thought Honda's came stock with an idle surge
LOL
Pull the IACV off the back of the intake mani and spray it out with carb cleaner, if that doesn't fix it try playing with the idle screw.

I agree! It most likely is IAC or the small passage way to let air into the IAC on the throttle body is clogged. If it was a vacuum leak it wouldn't go so low, unless your idle adjust screw was all the way closed. Good luck!
