Default clutch is enguaging too low on b16 crx

hey everyone im having some problems with my 88 crx. My crx has a b16a2 with an integra s1 cable transmission. The problem is that my clutch engagement is way too low. I've adjusted it at the transmission, but that doesnt seem to help. If i loosen it too much the car wont go into gear, so i guess my question is if i keep tightening it will the engagement get higher or what?? Its not a major problem, but it bugs me because it engages like an inch off the floor. thanks

yes, tighten it. of course, not too much, just till where its right. tightening it brings it up, loosening it lowers the engagement point down.

Tighten it up definately. It's odd seeing this post because I had the exact same problem. I also couldn't shift into 2 or 3 past 7k rpm. The problem was that my clutch was not disengaging fully, an dmy engagement point was too low. A friend of mine fixed it by turning the adjustment **** quite a bit, which raised the engagement point on the pedal and tightened up most of the slack on the arm going into the tranny.

put a new clutch in.. you shouldn't have to be maxing out the adjustment on the clutch cable.

the clutch is in perfect condition, i checked it out when i did the tranny swap, i tightened the cable a little more and the engagment went up, so its cool now. i just wasnt too sure if i should be tightening it that much, but it feels good now thanks everyone

Just make sure there's some free play in the clutch release arm, otherwise you'll have some unhappy release bearings.

if you popp'ed a new clutch in.. brand new.. i bet your clutch adjustment would be half way into the threads, and not maxed out like it is now.

I bet my brand new clutchmasters engages an inch off the floor and the threads are all the way to one end. And I bet I like it that way too.
