ls or gsr block?
guys im a little confused right now, i dont know wat block to use either the ls or gsr block. my friend told me get and ls block and throw a gsr crank, gsr bearing, ls rods and the pistons i wanna use whick are ctr. but for that dont u think is better if i get a gsr block, i heard the ls block is stronger then the gsr. but do u think i should get a gsr block and some ls rods witht the ctr pistons?
Im completely lost guys. also im plannin to use a b16a head. Any opinions will be fully appreaciated.

a GSR block won't need to be built to make 200whp NA. they rev better forever. LSs rev fine, and then a bearing spins. bye-bye high-revving LS. get a GSR shortblock if you can. don't bother putting GSR internals into an LS block. r/s ratio is almost the same, and you lose the one main advantage the GSR has, which is its main cap girdle.
ok, but them why people that go all motor build ls/vtec and not gsrblock/b16a head? is it cuz of the price? and also let say i decided to go with a gsr block for how much u think they go for just the block?

$1k for a nice short-block, as low as $500 for okay used one. yes, they do it b/c LS is cheaper, and b/c they think the 34cc larger LS will be faster. it's a little faster thanks to longer crank, but if you rev higher and put large cams i think it would be a moot point, and at 9000rpm might be a pretty bad thing. GSR would definitely be more reliable. i mean, honda spins them to 8500 bone stock. mugen and spoon spin them to 9000 bone stock.
