OK dont hate me for this, im going out on a limb here because I know i have read this on honda-tech somewhere. Has anyone seen the thread where the guy posts about using a camaro z28 knock sensor for his B-series? reason im asking because im a cheapskate and I dont wanna buy a 45 dollar used one on here when the camaro one is 25 bucks at the parts store. I need to know which year camaro it came from. Anyone have any idea WTF im talking about?

omg I cant believe someone found it. thank you! Arent the D series and B series knocks interchangeable? The plugs might not be but im sure the threads are right?

 

The b and d series knock sensor should be interchangable and the plug should be the same. As far as knock sensor goes, I have used the camry knock sensor in my car and it work fine with no problem. They basically all measure knock. I've had great sucess with the toyota knock sensor in my personal car.

 

Went to advance tonight and checked all these knock sensors, the one for the sunfire is 50 plus it looks totally different. The 5.0 camaro one had a flared out plug on it that looks totally weird. The camry one was 238.00. What obd are you guys using? Im obd0 and my knock sensor has 1 prong sticking out of it for a female connector. The obd2 D series sensor I have laying here has its own special plug. Anymore suggestions on the GM knock sensors? What years were these knock sensors coming from? I had them look up several

 

Well, usually you have to fine a plug that correspond to the knock sensor. What I do is used a male connector and female on the stock plug. I just used a replace a camry knock sensor on my brother prelude today and it work fine.

 

that sorta makes sense. Everyone made it out to see as though this was plug and play which is obviously too good to be true. Is there anything you can do for a knock sensor once the cap get pulled off of it likes its dryrotten or soemthing?
