Default any way to help paint? oxidize, fading etc

got a red 94 teg,and its got over a 100k on it,the car looks good overall except the paint is either fading,or oxidizing in a few places and im not sure what to do about it.its mainly the front bumper, side mirrors and side moldings. They are a really light red and dont match the car,not too mention the right rear quarter panel is rusted up in the bottom corner.Would this be something i could fix myself,or a body shop fix,or should i get a paint job,or should i say would that be cheaper? o and i did a search, didnt find anything.not too mention,i really dont know anything about exterior/detaling.thanks.

When my old paint did that, I wet-sanded with 1500 grit and used polishing wax afterward. Turned out alot better than it was. I guess it was dumb luck.

If it had some fading due to the sun, I could understand. But 11 year old paint with oxidation, wet sanding is not going to help this. You can wax and polish it for a temporary fix, but youre going to need new paint in a year or maybe two but oxidation will spread like cancer.

If you buff it TOO much youre going to eat it away more. I have a 95 MR teg and my trunk has fading due to buffing with an abrasive polish.
