Default help!@# my crx is straight buuuuuuusted :(

got this 89' crx w/ a beat down b18a motor. i got too much money in this bucket and i figurte i mine as well do it all.

motor is straight shot, burns oil cause the rings are fucked. vapor locks and the ignition timing is all kinds of crappy.

b20 swap? another b18? motor work? what would yoooou do?

also, how much does one generally pay to have a new tranny/engine put in?

yeah, go with dr latino, he always has something good to say. find someone you know and trust around there that'll help you, and be around durning the swap to figure out whats going on. now, you could have it rebuilt like subydoored said, or you could just get another ls motor for 200 or so (i know theres deals around, but they're usually when you don't NEED a motor.)

it aint even that hard, if you have at least a 120 piece kit of craftmans tools you can do it. Everything you could across that you cant figure out is here in the forum already. Ranging from taking out the bolt for the crank pulley to taking out the axles. It would help if you have someone that knows at least how to take out the axles. You dont even need an engine picker, you can just drop the car to the ground and onbolt the mounts.

or unbolt them from the control arms. I wouldnt recommend unboting the tie rods from the control arms cause its kinda of a bitch to put the bolts back. Better off droping the crossmember.
