i got the motor for a apexi safc and $100 thats a steal sorry u don't have luck like that then i got 2 more b18b engines only with 55,000 miles for $500 i i did was ask a simple ?????? it don't matter now i got a shift linkage for $15
To actually answer your question, yes. I wound up adding around 4-5 inches to each linkage. I cut them and went to Lowes and found some pipe that fit pretty snug inside. Make sure to mark them so that you don't weld them back together crooked.
PS, why does anyone care why the hell he wants to know? This is the fabrication forum after all...

We made one for one of my friends cars a few years ago. It actually ended up a little crooked, but we never got around to pullling it off and straightening it out
But even if you get the lenght right, from personal experience the fittings at the transmission are different, so you would need a donor B-series shift linkage...
For the guys who did it, how did you connect it to the tranny?

I did it with mine about 8 years ago, I machined a steel sleeve that made the stabilizer bar mount to the tranny, cut both the linkages and welded the stabilizer bar to the other side of the shifter assembly. To extend the pipes I found a long bolt that fit inside the pipe, welded it on the end of one pipe and a nut on the other with a second nut on the bolt to lock. This gave me some room to line things up and adjust the length. Took me an hour or so.
