water in the intake but nothing..
my friend from work just bought this ek civic coupe Ex ( dont know what the real chasis code is) but yeah she had an eh1 before (it was all stock) and her father like rinsed out the engine bay water or something and it was fine cause it was all stock... well this ek came with a short ram intake and he rinsed out the engine bay with water...
well the next day she starts it and she said it sounded like it was bubbling and what not but it started up after the 3rd turn. she drove it to school and then from school it died and she had to have it towed. anyways all in all she had a diagnostic test run on it and she was misfiring in 4 of her chambers or something and they had to dry the filter then re-oil it...
MY QUESTION IS.... i thought that if an intake sucked up water it would cease up and throw a rod or something??????? her engine is fine shes been driving it without a problem.. WHATS THE DEAL????
i would search but i dont really know what i would search for.....? sorry

the motor wasnt on when her dad was spraying. thats what saved her motor. it didnt suck enough water. the motor only sucked the water that was soaked in the air filter and thats nothing to worry about.
It's probably just misfiring from getting something wet; same thing happened to me. I used a non-OEM distributer cap that leaked when I washed the engine bay. It drove like crap and stalled until I was able to dry it out and drive to the dealer for a Honda one; no problems since. Pull the cap and plug wires, and check all wiring in the bay.
EDIT: you did say it was misfiring, I missed that part. Just make sure all electrics are dry; you can't hydrolock if the engine isn't running or sucking up water when starting.

my 0.02 is that you got to real carefull when washing the engine make sure you cover up that cap.. cause the same happend to me and i just removed the cap and wires and just dried up some water that got in
