I would like you inpute on either of the two. I plan on swapping into a DC2 either K20 or GSR, I have both the motors the k20a2 w/21k and the GSR w/160k now i swapped the gsr into my friends hatch just for the hell of it. It was fast but I was quickly bored of the power it had. I would like your point of veiw from experience what is best. I want somthing hella fast.
Should I spend the 2500 to swap the K20 using the money from the GSR?
or
Should I spend the 2500 on the build up of a GSR?
Pictures, comparisons, storys of killer fast cars... Anything to help me make up my mind!

Not that I was trying to be a jackass, but DC2 is a heavy car.
$2500 into a GSR is enough for a decent rebuilt but you probably won't get 200whp out of the car.
If it's going to cost you 2500 to swap the K20 in there, do it. You will nice new engine, that is superior to Bseries, with Hondata, and few bolt on's down the road you might even hit 200whp. Yet again, don't expect the car to be 'killer fast.'

Slow down cowboy, IIRC hes talking about the K20A2..

yeah, k20a2 is closer to 200whp with hondata and good bolt-ons. But still, if you already own the motor, then thats def. the way to go.
The k20a2 is going to cost you more than 2500 to swap it in right the first time. Your looking at 1800+ for just kpro+ a GOOD header but i wouldnt be surprised to see 210+ with a GOOD header on kpro.

Wrong on the Kpro they go for 900ish and below, you just gotta look around. With a shitty header you still will be knocking at 200whp door. Also you could get that puppy in for way cheaper than 2400 but that depends on where you shop and what you know to make it cheaper. I suggest you look around k20a.org, make yourself familiar with what you need and where you could save money. Its all there provided you use the search function. Good luck, if you have any other Qs feel free to PM me.

I completely agree. I've been told that once you go K-series you won't go back to B-series...per Team Pacman
You can also visit http://www.k20a.org and talk to a few guys on that board. They'll give you some opinions from experience. Good luck!

well.. the hatch that i put my motor in. I am buying. I am too lazy to take it out. So i guess it could be a good set up for auto-x . Gsr w/ A-sports, spoon header, and cams. could keep me happy for a bit. trading head off k20 for five lug- tranny sold for 750- and block is still for sale. Thanks for all the coments.
