Upon a cold start, it could theoretically lead to some problems if it's thick enough. I'd be more worried about oil contamination though.

... and to add to that, at what weight would it start to cause bearings to not get the oil that it needs? I'm thinking of going with 10w60 in one of my cars (d16 engine) that's burning oil, but bearing failure would suck big *****

not everybody goes to both forums, therefore, somebody who comes here may give some good info but wouldn't give that good info if they don't go to the other forum......... get it?
