PR3 (obd0 pre obd w/e) or PW0 .. confused about J1 location please help.
IT reads PR3 on my ecu but the internals seem like a PW0, I've been searching pgmfi.org and I looked at the pictures and the pics of their PR3 board don't match my board and the PW0 board on their site looks like my "pr3" ecu. Another thing the previous owner said that it was chipped, vtec engages at 4500 , is my board even chipped? it seems like it I don't know much about pre obd ecus so enlighten me.
-Is my ecu even chipped , if it is then where is the J1 jumper so I can run off the stock map or should I even be looking for a jumper
My ecu

Pr3 from pgmfi.org they have the obd1 same as the obd0

PW0 from pgmfi.org which also looks like my board.

Yes, your ECU is chipped. But remember, the OBD0 PR3 and PW0 ecus always used the external rom for the maps, so there is no jumper to use the internal maps: there aren't any!
You can always chip it to stock, or get a chip with what you want on it. Then again, the RTP package is nice...

RTP is real time programming. It's pretty well developed for OBD1, and coming along for OBD0.
OBD0 and OBD1 use the same chips, but obviously different programs on those chips. The burner you have will work for either. While you're at it, you can use Chrome to edit the PR3 stuff. There's some other editors out there, like BRE. The only think I don't really like about BRE is that you have to install the .NET stuff to run it, but it can do a little more with the PR3 than other things out now.
