help me! my car stalled when i was parked at a red light. my rpm suddenly drops and my engine just died. what would be the problem? how do i fix that?

 

Was your ac on? That happened to me once or twice but it was in the summer and 115.

 

I'm assuming its an automatic? We are mind readers here so don't bother to give the YEAR and MODEL (or anything usable) of your car.

 

what year? More info is needed hot or cold out, When you first start up, when you pull over? I would start with a tune up, but that is a generic guess

 

My car did that a while backed, if the rpm was too low, for instance when i stopped at a red light, it would just drop and then die, check your distrubutor, that was my problem

 

it is hard to come to any help suggestions if we have no clue on car year and model and a bit of past history

 

no. my ac wasn't on.

 

i did a tune up like 3 weeks ago. had new distributor and cap rotor. had new ngk spark plugs. but i didnt change the spark plug wires. is that one of the problem?

 

i don't think it is your plug wires..ok are you getting spark?? if not i would chk thje work you did first rotor, cap ,if you get spark chk if you are getting fuel .....again we still dont know what year and model car we are working on

car is a 99 honda accord EX , ULEV v-tec, 4 cyl. ,automatic

 

i had this problem before when i had a bad main relay....

i had the whole..wont start in the summer problem...

if i did get it started it would run but out of no where the rpms would drop to 500 rpms then 300 rpms then die.. but i used to shift it to N and rev it above 1.5K rpms and when the light turned green i would slam it to D3. It was painfull to the tranny but this was the only way it would stay on.

then i got the main relay problem fixed and the dieing on stop light issue fixed aswell.
try the main relay aswell just take it out and take it apart to see if the logic board is good..

im having a new issue as well something related to yours but when im in parked. I was reving over 5k rpms. Once i let go of the gas it would die just like that? im stomp
