vtec problem

Default vtec problem

ok i have had this happen a couple times im just not sure exactly why it is happening im hoping someone can help,

when i am in vtec and i let off the gas pedal and the revs drop while still in vtec my check engine lights comes on with the vtec system failure code, why is this happening, noone else i know has this problem

because your vtec is turning to the darkside of VTECH! muhahahha.. sorry.

probably nothing to worry about.

first thing to do if u have a vtec problem, is to check ur oil and change it. always works for me

change your oil, check the solenoid, check wiring.

i did change my oil, and the wiring should be fine because its stock

how do i check the selenoid?

jus because its stock wiring doesnt mean ****, u might have a bad ground, usually if its the wiring thats the case. So check ur grounds first, thats the easiest thing to do. To see if the selanoid is bad, u need to run some power to it n see if it makes the "vtec noise". I guess u can call it a buzz or whatever

I had problems before and I took the VTEC solenoid out and replace the gasket and its all good in the hood now. Hope that helps
