well i was recharging my ac today, and i was jus lookin around my engine bay. i looked where my intake was bolted down to the frame on the left side, and the bracket is starting to CRACK like crazy. wtf??????? how weak is this ****? its about 3/4 of the way around and pretty damn close to breakign off.
has anyone else had this problem? before it actually falls off, i was thinkin.... could i jus cut off that bracked and possible weld (its aluminum right?) that **** so it will seal back up? its the bracket really that necessary? i mean that intake doesnt even move that much w/o it attached. i need some opinions, i know im not the only one that this has happened to

I had the AEM CAI for 4 years and not one problem...
Why not try some jbweld to fix it? sandable and paintable too.
Or sell it to me for cheap
I'd be happy to buy it for a reasonable price

If anyone has a AEM CAI that is damaged and your looking to sell let me know
I'd prefer a silver one with the CARB stickers

Bump.
I'd like to know how many other people have broken their brackets. That piece of bent sheet metal looks so much weaker compared to the OEM cast piece.

^ Trooo dat, I'd get one, but it'd be a waste of money right now since she has a new heart going in pretty soon. Probably try and fab up some crazy Mugen Intake for it or something.

I have one for sale ..... Polished with the Carb stickers (big ugly AEM badge removed)
2 problems though:
1) It's not broken. Actually it's pretty much brand new (Used for 1500Km's).
2) It's not exactly what you'd call "cheap". Probably 2/3's the price of brand new

But yeah, I've never had any issues with that bracket. It has the bolt with the soft bushing attached and flexes when it needs to.
