Default How to take out the crank shaft

hey everyone, was wrenching on my block today to get the crank shaft out and when i went to take the pulley off and it wouldnt break loose at 150 psi. how high do i need to have it before the bolt will come off? and what else do i need to take off to get it out, i already took all of the main brackets that touch the crank and everything.

The best thing to do is take the pulley off first so that there's more resistance on the crank, and less chance of warping/damaging something. It looks like you're going to need a stronger impact wrench. Consider renting/borrowing something offering at least 900 lb/ft of reverse torque. If that doesn't do it you may have to track down a 1 inch drive impact wrench.

Besides what he said, you need to remove the oil pan (duh), windage tray and oil pump pickup. Then the oil pump and rear main seal holder, then of course the main bearing caps/ bearing girdle if it has one.
