Default Aftermarket Caliper mounting brackets

Hey guys im fitting some aftermarket Brake calipers to my race car and just wanted som input from you guys on what you think i should do...

This is how it looks now if i line up the caliper with the brake disc.
(excuse the poor MS Paint drawing, im not good in autocad )

As you can see the Mounting tabs on the Caliper dont line up with the original mounting tabs on the hub, do you think its a good idea to make the new mounting bracket as shown in the pic (yellow piece) ??? if not what are your guys suggestions on what i should do..

Also what material do you recommend i use to have the brackets made out of?

Thanks in Advance!

Wilwood makes their brackets out of aluminum, so I would assume that it would be a fine material for the brackets, so long as it was thick enough.

I made some brackets for an 86 corolla Gts out of 6061 alunimum and they are doing just fine. It is a custom willwood setup with their 12 inch rotors and the 4 piston calipers.

Good luck

I also heard of guys using 6061 Aluminum and having no probs so i'll go with that,

But you guys rekon theres nothing wrong with my mounting bracket design?
What thickness should i have it at the end bolting onto the Standard Hub?

Also anyone got any pics of their mounting brackets that they fabricated?

Cheers!
Bevan

Hope this helps.
