Every once in while we hear signs of open wheel unification, is this time any different?

Does the facts of the most recent past make the hope any more tangible? The end of 2005 seems to be a point where things could change in regards to engine rules for both sides and having a common technical spec. How about the news of Cosworth purportedly being ousted from Red Bull, does that put a new spin on the hope that few still have in US open wheel racing?

It doesn't matter how much sense it makes - egos got them into this situation and will probably keep them there. The most realistic solution would be for one, new cabal to buy both of the existing players.
