here is my problem, my gas mileage is awful, when i turn it on, the idle surges up and down one time. when i am at a stop, and it is in drive, it shakes vigourously, the dash rattles like crazy. also, my check engine light is on all the time. help will be greatly appreciated.

what rpm is it at when this happens??

 

well i haent checked codes. the light is on all the time. about the surge. when i fire it up, it goes up to 2k, drops to 1, goes back up and stays there, slowly goes down to 1 when it warms up, put it in gear and it goes way down, like 350-400.

 

i have the same thing in my car... the shop i bought the motor from told me that the d15b does not have the 5th cold start injector. so until the car warms up, the motor sounds like it is revving on its own. after the motor is up to running temp, i have no problems.

is it the d15b8 if so ihad that motor it did the same **** except no check engine light, that was back when i was a noob, get the timing checked make sure nothings wrong with your tps and make sure the throttle doesnt stick but first find out what CEL code its throwing
