Found my racecar..
Thanks to all who responded in my search to find a ITR racecar. I have purchased a car, and now I can clean it up and go racing. Unfortunately, it is not an ITR, but I got a really good deal on a 92 Civic H/B running complete ITR mechanicals (engine/tranny/suspension/brakes...) and it has been running solidly up here for two years now. So I basically bought an ITR racecar that has undergone significant chassis weight reduction
(about 2050 lbs)
Once I redo the front part of the roll cage, and take out a bunch more weight, I will hopefully see some of you on track. Sorry no pictures yet, it is kinda ugly lookin right now
Maybe in three weeks.

Just out of curiousity, what does "good deal" translate to? The best deal I've seen was about $7K for something similar to that. That was uncaged though.

Congrats. I too have a ITR disguised as a 88 CRX (B19c motor, ITR tranny, now ITR calipers to put on the car). Don't let ugly keep you from showing it off. Several folks have seen my car and it is fugly on the outside. Faded painted, crinkle in the passenger door. Back bumper cover not quite on right. Actually I have enjoyed the car not looking like it has **** under the hood and then nailing the throttle to the surprise of several when it looms up in their V8 mirrors on track. Yep put a good cage in that thing if you are going to track it. Enjoy.
BTW the sig pic below was taken by someone at a NASA event and they were nice enough to make the color look good.

Well, here are some pictures of when I first went to see the car...
Like I said, she looks rough right now (especially when it is stuck in the mud!
)
Will have better pics in a couple of weeks when it is fully ready.

Well, the car has had the JDM high end parts book thrown at it (Spoon/JIC/TODA/etc etc etc) and it is a fully built car (has been run for two years now) and has many sets of wheels etc etc blah blah blah, and I got it for the equivalent of under $10k US (I can't give out ALL my secrets...I may want to sell the car on here at a later date

I figured it was one method of theft prevention.
There was sa thread about rollbars a little while ago in which I expressed the same understanding however the NASA HC CCR didnt specifically state that the crossbar had to be solid, and someone else chimed in that neither did the SCCA so long as the main hoop, cross and harness bar were all in the same plane. Not 100% sure though, I'd prefer to have it solid while the harness bar be split IMO.

ya i read it the same way for nasa, i apologize for saying that it was in the rules i really thought it was, and when talking with several people they supported my claim, although it now appears that they were doing it on the basis for saftey.
nice car, and seems like a good deal. did you try and move it and burn out and burry the front tires?

Chris,
Isn't there a new track being built in the Ottawa area? I've seen pictures of the layout and heard it just needs paving to be complete, sometime this year. In fact I think they've run some rallies on the gravel base.
Are you planning on running at this track?
An interested Canuck in BC.

There is a new track being built in Calabogie. It is called Calabogie Motorsports park (Duh.) And out club (Motorsport Club of Ottawa) is hosting a race there in September, which I will be attending as well.

It is only 45 minutes from my house here in Ottawa.
Hmmm Friday after work, quick couple of hours lapping then out for a few "bevrAAges"

I have seen this car in action and it is so much fun to watch drive around the track. I hope to have mine perform that well one day too, as well as being able to drive with Barry's ability too. I'm working on it slowly but surely
