replacing factory steering wheel w/ airbag
im thinking of replacing the steering wheel in my 96 accord since i have a momo steering wheel and hub just sitting here. is there a way of bypassing the SRS light so that it isnt constantly on? can i put a resistor in the SRS connector to make it think that the connection still exists?
any help is appreciated. thanks.

If you are going this far, and are 100% sure about removing the air bag for good. Then you can do what i did. I just pulled my gauge cluster out and broke the little bulb that illuminates the SRS light. A screw driver works great for that
i also did this with the ABS light and the Seatbelt light.

Well i suppose if you ever plan on taking the car back to stock, or try to sell it. Being able to put the airbag back in is a good thing when you try to sell a car.

good question indeed, just for your info the new honda cluster use non-removable LED for most of the warning light
but i don't think that's the case for 5th gen accord.
you can just take out the blub or ignore it, not much people from what i know will go that far(meaning fooling the srs system with some kind of bypass voltage) since you are talking about a couple thousand dollar worth of electronic and circuit.

cuz i'm lazy like that
I have a 4th gen and by the looks of it, it would have been pretty hard to pull the bulb out w/o breaking it. It sits pretty deep inside there. but if i had patience and wanted to salvage the little bulb i'm sure i could have found a way.

anyone else know if a resistor can be put in the SRS connector to make it seem like theres still a connection in place?
