What tire size do I need?
I have a 2000 EK hatch and currently its on 185/65R14 winter tires. I bought 15" 16 spoke integra rims and I'm wondering what sized tires do I need now, so it would fit as well as my current tires do. I calculated something like 205/55R15, is that right?

Another advantage of the 195/55-15 is that it will keep the accuracy of your speedometer and odometer. With the 205/50-15, both will read 1.7 percent higher than actual as a result of the tire size.
I would get 195/55-15 if the tires you're considering are available in that size, otherwise 205/50-15. There are quite a few good tires available in 195/55-15, including Yokohama AVS ES100 ($61), Avon Tech M500 ($72), and, if you are willing to spend a lot more money for a grippy, great-handling tire, Bridgestone Potenza RE010 ($134).

I'm thinking of going back to 195/55R15 after having 205/50R15 for the last 2 summers on the stock Si rims. Seemed to have lost some steering feel with the wider 205 tires - do you think the 205s were too wide for the stock Si rims? I've been reading up on tires as well but the Avon Tech M500s are so new, I haven't found any test info. on them other than the stuff posted up at TireRack. You have any opinion or know of any owners experience with the Avons?

Not necessarily, but I don't think they necessarily offer any big advantages over the 195. (It depends on the specific tire, and the wheel width.)

Nope. I'm in the same boat - they did well in Tire Rack testing, haven't heard from anyone about actual experience.
