ITR is now D Stock.
Just an FYI to all AutoX-er's out there. The ITR, and quite a few others are now in D Stock rather than G stock. It appears that they have restructured a few classes.
From the SF Region SCCA http://www.moutons.org/sccasolo/List...stockc.html#DS
IMO it actually looks like a better grouping.

They are typically local to your area too, so you should be able to drive there in an hr. AutoX is what I call "cone racing", and you may have it confused with track days.
BTW SF area SCCA is $25 and SCCA memebers only. NASA is $25 all, but no membership required.

Yup, DStock... it should be a good class with other great cars. I wonder how new 5-spd IS300 will do... those can be equipped with factory option LSD and maybe TRD springs. Does anyone know for sure?
Ahh... now I've gotta decide if I want to put the header and run SM or stay stock.

Factory options like an LSD could wind up getting the IS300 re-clssed before it ever has a chance to prove itself.
The Camaro SS is in SS because there was an option for an even better SLP suspension package. Since there was no practicle way to police which cars had it and which didn't, they all went straight to SS. I could see the same sort of thing happening to the IS300 if it had a optional LSD.
Besides, our main concer should be those damn Neon ACR's.

The Neon ACR stayed in the minors (G stock) with the probe and MX6.

I have a question, since my GSR has been lightl modified, it will be put into street mod class. Are there different classes within the street mod class or do they just put any modified car into that class?

That damn rich dude and his daughter are already competitive!

And just put the header on! But then again, are you SURE you want join me in SM?
Quick and dirty ITR classifications:
Stock = D Stock. Only exhaust, different air element and shocks are allowed (wear items). That's pretty much it. Allows DOT race rubber.
Bolt ons = STX. Above + Headers, springs/shocks, shiftknobs, CAI...all your popular mods. Only DOT 140 or better street tires.
Bolt ons and get @ss kicked = CSP. See above, only with DOT race rubber
Bolt ons + engine work = SM. above + cams, cam gears, final drive, clutch, flywheel, pistons, CF hood, etc. DOT Race rubber.
Anything you wanna do to your ITR = EM. Any slick you want.
My recommendation = STX. Show up at every event you can and run STX. We *want* STX to be ran at nats this year because an ITR has a great shot at finishing first, and the only way that can happen is if you run and support STX. Plus, the ITR GS (now DS) domination might be coming to a close heer soon.

Is the STX a new class for this year? Never heard of it.
I'm in CSP right now. They should move the ITR into a better class. I guess DSP? or ESP? How the heck does it work. The closer to 'A' the harder the class?

For political reasons, I don't ever see the ITR moving out of CSP (at least for a few years). There's not enough ITR guys b!tching about it and now we have STX to play in and possibly win in, so why run in SP anyways (unless you really love race rubber and getting your butt kicked!). Even at that SM has a softer pax than CSP.
And yes, STX is new for 2002. Think of STS, only STX allows factory cars with LSDs and n/a cars under 5.0L and blown cars under 2.0L. 225 tire and 7.5" rim width are still in effect, so I don't see a 5.0 Mudstain or something being a competitive car in STX.

Does that mean I can throw a JSC on there and run STX, or factory only?
EDIT: I still have two more races in G Stock to wrap up this season

TJ - I'll be running SM, 'cuz I have an aftermarket seat. Pretty lame, if you ask me, but we'll see. I should be picking up a used set of V700's. (probably not use it until towards the end of the season.) BTW, why on earth are we starting so late? March... wtf? The weather is perfect now... I don't understand their logic to run the cars in dead heat. Must be a new consepiracy against Hondas.
