Have Rocket or Web make you a custom set. Shelf cams are only going to get you so far.

Stroker motor? I would think with that geometry, you would be making max power around 7800 - 8200 rpm (guess), so look for cams with strong mid-to-upper peak power and not something that needs to wind out to 9K +, especially if you are going to drive it on the street.

Just because its a stroker motor doesnt mean it wont make power past 8200...

Your cylinder head, cam and intake manifold selection have more to do with where the motor will make pwoer than the actual stroke will

ok well they are out to me thats fine, i can get them

my engine is a 84mm bore and 89 mm stroke, but i have custom rods, and pistons , for a custom rod ratio
i can safely rev to ten or so
my head is fully built, and ported/polished by HEADGAMES MOTORWORKS
my setup is perfect for some very large cams, i am way undercamed rigth now

custom cams will be prob a bit of money, i wonder if its worth it

84x89 isn't really a 2.1...

i was 85x92 and that's only a 2.088L

What cam are you currently running? I can't imagine a Skunk2 Stage Two, JUN3 etc.... being undercammed on a 12.5:1 motor. I ran JUN3's with my 14.x:1 motor and it performed beautifully on the VTEC lobe. Left something to be desired under the curve however.

I believe big stroke motors can make great power into the 9,000's if the head can flow huge amounts of air. Piston speed plays a big role in breathing and of course a stroker motor has plenty of piston speed.

Let us know what your using your motor for, drag or road racing
then tell us how much you drive it on the street

Cams make or break a motor in terms of how and where power is delivered and how your car behaves itself if driven daily. I think all of us would feel terrible if we recommend you the holy grail of power making cams and you didn't have enough vaccum to operate your power brakes. lol

I know that, but it does have a significant impact on where max torque will be. The geometry is not really an issue in his case, though because he only has a 89mm stroke.

Rocket Motorsports M24X's.

298/12.7IN 305/12.1EX

Tbone has made very good numbers with these cams on his setup.

Skunk2 Pro1's also seemed to do very well on his setup as well (M24X is available in the M24XX. Bigger primaries for a boost in midrange).

Rocket will custom grind you something as well. It may just take longer to get though. Shoot him an email and see what he thinks.
