Okay, so I had my clutch go out on me at like ~156,000 miles. as in spring popped out of the clutch disk gone. so i replaced it and the pressure plate with an oem kit, including the throwout bearing. i put everything back together and it had this grinding noise. so i replaced the transmission about 5k miles later but it was still there, so im guessing its the throw out. my question is this - are you supposed to like grease the **** out of the bearing and the tranny shaft? i only put like a coat on it and i dont know what else itd be. also, there was alot of wear on the fingers on the pressure plate would that be caused by the bearing too? thanks and sorry again if this is already somewhere but i searched all over.

 

does it grind all the time or when shifting??

and ya i would have put more grease than that on it

 

its a constant rubbing/grinding noise coming from the clutch area whether im moving or not, it goes away if i push the clutch pedal down. its made this noise with two different transmissions.. im just wondering if not enough or the wrong type of grease would make it noisy.
