ok my wiring for the radio and cigg lighter/ashtray is all cut up and im trying to hook my ashtray light to the dimmer switch..... but when i turn the dimmer the dash lights go off and then the lights for the ashray come on???anyone know what the deal is or how to fix this???

 

First put the wires back the way you found them on the dimmer switch.

In the wire harness for the radio/cig lighter you have a red/blk wire. There's 12V there when the lights are on. There's a red/blk wire on the lighter/ashtray assembly. Twist those two together. Now you still have a red wire on the lighter/ashtray assembly. Find the red wire on your defogger switch and splice the red wire from the lighter into that.

I had to figure this out when i put a Si dash in my dx. The lights and dimmer work properly.

alright thanks ... thats exactly what im doing si dash and clock in a dx plus cigg lighter and ashtray lights and its a mess.....wires everywhere
