Default Why does it backfire when I take a sharp turn??

I recently found out that my CRX backfires when I turn in 2nd gear. After I turn the corner, I lose power for a second then boost (making the popping sound from the exhaust) back to normal in 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Any idea??

The engine is D15B2 and are you asking about the air intake?

I searched and people say it’s the timing but I already fix that for my smog check.

This only happens on 2nd gear when I’m turning.

No, but do you guy’s think a lose exhaust might cause the problem? I have a universal exhaust, which I got it from some ghetto muffler shop. I was thinking that when I turn, the piping might lose or something because nothing really happens after I drive straight.

What kind of wiring do you think I need to fix??

OK, I went to test drive it but this happens when I turn slowly or fast. I shift to first, start diving and when I start to turn, “BAN” I lose my power and I could hear popping sound under my exhaust. WTF is going on? It drives fine when it is a straightaway but not when I turn. Any other advises?

It’s not a turbo. It boost because after the turn, I have no power (when it’s backfiring) then suddenly I get my power back, which gives me the boost.

Damn, you must have VTEC or something

I've never heard of this before... Does it do it in all gears when you turn? or Just 2nd?

How hard are you turning and how much gas do you have? Sounds like fuel starvation to me.

I check the ECU and it was giving me code 10 (intake air temperature sensor).

Now it happens when I start in 1st and 2nd gear. FUCKKKKKKKKKK.

The CRX manual said that the TA sensor is the problem but my D15B2 dose have a TA sensor connecter but it is covered with some kind of glue (color is gray) but it was running fine before, so I guess it has nothing to do with the intake air temperature sensor. Any other idea?

my car does that when the gas is low in the tank.

i'd investigate that. if it does it with plenty of gas, maybe the sock filter on your pump is coming off or coming apart.

Thanks for all the info guys. I'll try to fill up my tank tomorrow and see if it goes away. BTW I drove like 277 miles.
