HID Lighting System HID Lamp stands for High Intensity Discharge Lamp.
The HID Lamp is a system that produces light by putting xenon gas and metal halide salts into the light emitting tube installed inside the HID Lamp.
The electrons inside the light emitting tube collide with the metal atoms, using 20,000 volts generated from the control system (ballast) to produce light.
¢Â HID System components
(1) BULB : - The Xenon Gas and mercury Metal Halide Salts existing inside the light emitting tube causes the molybdenum electrodes on both sides to plasma discharge and create energy, which in turn produces light.
(2) IGNITOR : - This is an electronic amplifier that receives electric current from the ballast and boosts voltage to ignite the Arc Light Source in all environments. It initializes plasma discharge within the source by delivering a high-volt pulse to the electrodes.
(3) BALLAST : - This is an electronic control unit used to initialize arc and supply a stabilized power supply to the bulb and ignitor during normal arc conditions.
* Light bulb: 1 set of HID bulb assembly each on the left and right side --- 2 ea
* Relay: 1 set of relay assembly each on the left and right side --- 2 ea
* Ballast: 1 set of ballast assembly each on the left and right side --- 2 ea
* Installation manual: 1 multilingual manual (Korean, English and Japanese)
¢Â Advantages for HID
Compared with the existing halogen lamp, which emits light through its light emitting system (filament) from DC 12 volts, the HID Lamp does not need to replace filament required due to damage.
Additional advantages of the HDI Lamp are a 50% reduction in power consumption, 3 times the luminosity of conventional lamps, and a 5 times increase in life span over existing halogen lamps.
Since the HID system consumes only 35W of power, it contributes to low fuel consumption and greater efficiency and safety of cars.
