Default got a huge problem with the rex again HELP.........................................

well got a cel for a vtec solinoid. replace the solinoid and its still throwing a code for vtec solinoid, but it was running good. it was just running like i had a 1.6 liter without vtec. now heres comes the real problem. last night i was driving it and out of nowhere its starts misfiring and dumping fuel in the engine. i drove it back home, which was about 15 miles and i waste about a whole tank of gas. got it back home pulled the plugs and the number3 plug was soaked. removed the distributor and cleaned the icm, and put it all back together and retimed it and still the same problem. what could be wrong. i was on a bad deadline for today and i didnt make it. please help me oh i talked to a tech at the dealer and he said without the vtec solinoid it would run like a regular engine. thanks in advance

swap injectors with another cylinder, if the problem follows to the other cylinder then you at least isolated the problem.

it sounds like your wiring. i'm assuming you used to have dpfi? it sounds like whoever did the wiring did a hack job, the wires for the #3 fuel injector are shorting out and the wire for the vtec solenoid broke somewhere.

i could be wrong, but thats how it sounds to me.

If your plugs are soaked then the injectors are opening. Could be something simple like your distributor not firing the spark plugs, or your fuel return line is clogged and to much gas is being let in to the cylinders.... Im no expert but I would check those out first.
