Default Liftiing out my B18C1 tomorrow...but i dont have any driver's side hoist point

...But I dont have the "tab" which is bolted onto the back of the head to lift out the eingine as shown in the helms manual. I can find the "hoist point" on the tranny, but theres just an empty bolt hole on the back of my head...so the previous owner screwed me.. what are my options?

Any alrernative hoist points on the driver's side?

Can i use my friends "tab"...he owns a JDM Mazda GTX...the tab looks identical..im just unsure if it will support the B18's weight.

Thanks in advance.

An empty hole in the head is all there's supposed to be. You're supposed to screw in a bolt and then hold it from there. That's how all B-series motors are.

There is not supposed to be a tab there. You use a bolt.

I have the same question, I know the bolt in the back of the head, but where else? I know you'd need more than one spot. Are there any BAD spots to do it?

I use the tab bolted to the top of the tranny. You can also use the top bolt of the distributor.
