Liftiing out my B18C1 tomorrow...but i dont have any driver's side hoist point
...But I dont have the "tab" which is bolted onto the back of the head to lift out the eingine as shown in the helms manual. I can find the "hoist point" on the tranny, but theres just an empty bolt hole on the back of my head...so the previous owner screwed me.. what are my options?
Any alrernative hoist points on the driver's side?
Can i use my friends "tab"...he owns a JDM Mazda GTX...the tab looks identical..im just unsure if it will support the B18's weight.
Thanks in advance.

An empty hole in the head is all there's supposed to be. You're supposed to screw in a bolt and then hold it from there. That's how all B-series motors are.
didnt know that...i know many makes of cars that come with that hoist brace....but i just got back from a mechanic i kinda know and he was nice enough to lend me the brace for free.
Case closed.

hehe i swapped my motor by running rope under my intake and exhaust manifolds because i didnt have the tabs- total gangster but it worked. search out vrbtchcar on here, his avatar is of us doing it

There is not supposed to be a tab there. You use a bolt.
