Why Type R’s are better than S2000’s
Here’s the situation: My brother was out of town and needed his S2000 moved from one garage to another within the same apartment complex. The car needed to travel about 150 feet to make the destination. Sounds like a fairly simple task, huh? Not with a few inches of snow.
There was about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground and that stopped the S2K dead in its tracks. The S02’s were providing no traction. I tried rocking it back and forth but nothing would work. It was so pathetic to see a car get stuck in the middle of a driveway with 2 degrees of incline and a little snow. Fortunately Mr. Plow was nearby and made a special path from the car to the garage. I needed to shovel the rest of the snow away by hand.
I kid you not - the car would not move from this spot!

The solution

Safe arrival home

I'm afraid you would have the same problem with an ITR on stock Potenza RE010.
The first winter I had the car I tried to move it in 1 inch of snow and I could get nowhere. It was fairly pathetic too.
Damn the S2000 looks good (it might get some competition from the new Nissan 350Z. I saw one live at the Montreal autoshow and it is sweet)

You might have tried dropping the tire pressures way down. It may have been just enough to get moving.
I once travelled through freezing rain (and icy/ snow conditions) for about 20 miles up a mountain pass with about 10psi in the fronts. Full pressure was getting me nowhwere. (actually I was sliding backwards) This was in my old ITR however

Damn, this doesn't give me much hope of driving my car around today. It snowed 8 inches in Chicago last night, and I drive an ITR.
When I looked at the first pic I just about started to cry. “What is S2000 doing outside in WI during the winter!!!!!!” Then I read on and see it was put away….....thank god.
I’m surprised you could not move it at all. Keep that thing out of the snow so I don’t have another panic attack.

Yeah, my friends driveway is pretty steep and I remember in highschool him having to get a rid to school because he couldn't drive his car out of the driveway.
Second gear might have helped but I highly doubt it would have done the job. Remember I had all that torque to contend with.
Mr Plow that's my name, once again that's Mr Plow..
for some reason I was expecting you to show us an itr towing it out

reason #1 the s2k is better:
Drop top cruise down Pacific Coast Highway on a Sunday afternoon from HB to Laguna and getting jocked by females in BMW`s, Mercedes, etc the whole way

The instruction manuals says, "this car is not intended for wet/snow weather conditions."
High-performance tires like the S-02 or the RE010 are simply not designed to be used in cold temperatures or on snow or ice.
That's what winter tires are for.
You can take either car out on a snowy day, if you've got winter tires on it.
However, with the same winter tires on either car, the ITR will still do better than the S2000 on snow and ice, since it (a) has fwd, and (b) has the engine over the drive wheels.
Why are you guys getting so emotional about seeing an S2000 in snow? If I had the money to afford it, I'd drive it in winter without giving it any thought. Slap some winters on it and do donuts in a parking lot. Mmmmmmmm I'm sure you'd enjoy and appreciate the car so much more. Besides, it's not an exotic anyways. BTW- today in TO we got a lot of snow and guess what I saw downdown. A mint condition 928 with blizzaks driving through that snow. Beautiful sight, but more interesting was the fact that it was driven by a man in his 70's. I complemented him on his choice of transportation in winter and all he said was "yeah, she goes pretty good in the snow". I love seeing expensive sports cars in the snow.
If there is something i hate is a car that is treated like a bitch...
If u bought it drive it...
Make that S2K a trooper...make it work for wut u paid for it.heheh

He doesn't need the s2k to do donuts https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=116267
Besides w/the lowered suspension he wouldn't be driving, he'd be plowing.
